Firefighter paramedics from Station 28 respond to a collision at approximately 3:05 pm March 22 where an 18-year-old man was driving a 2005 Toyota Tundra northbound on the Ponderosa Road cloverleaf on ramp to westbound Highway 50 and for unknown reasons lost control of his vehicle, traveling in a southerly direction across westbound lanes. The front end of his vehicle collided with the right side of a 2003 Ford Explorer being driven by a 62-year-old man traveling westbound in the No.1 lane, causing the Ford Explorer to overturn. The driver of the Ford Explorer sustained major injuries and was transported to Marshall Hospital for treatment. Drugs and/or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the collision.
